5 Types of Photos you Can Expect to See in Your Gallery from your Oxfordshire Family Photoshoot

Updated: Mar 25

Oxfordshire Family Photoshoot

While looking for a family photographer in the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire area, you surly came across A LOT of amazing photographers. Each having their unique style, way of photographing, feel to their photos. Each art is different and each photographer has different vision.

My style of family photography is lifestyle. I capture the natural beauty of your family, without overly staging or posing your family. If you're looking for posed photographs for the camera, I might not be the best fit for you. However if you are looking for fun, heartwarming images full of fun, love and laughter, I might be the right fit for you! My aim is to capture the most genuine, happy version of yourself. To document kids in their element - playing, exploring, having fun. To document your bond.

Even though every single family photoshoot of mine is unique, there are some shots I make sure I get every single time. They are the staples of each gallery, shots that are important for my clients.

1 Up close & snuggled up

Connection focused portraits are my favourite. Having you all snuggled up perfectly documents your beautiful family's bond and the love you have for each other. Saying things like "look at the person who has the stinkiest feet" usually sparks playful giggles from children for natural expressions!

2 Candid moments

Do you know what makes the best photograph in my eyes? Those impromptu moments. When a toddler turns around with the perfect smile on their face. When a child leans into their parents. When parents start tossing their kid in the air. When they start playing ring around rosie. I'm always ready to capture those. And if they aren't happening? By gently prompting and guiding (but not posing!) I will achieve same natural results.

3 Solo kids & parents shots

Parents & kids photos are so special. Especially photos with mums and their kids, as I know how rare it is for mums to be the one in the photo (rather than the one taking it!). I always ensure to capture the bond kids have with each parent. The photos are usually very different - with dads usually playing and tossing their kiddos in the air, while mum photos are more gentler with a lot of hugs and kisses.

4 Fun shots & motion

Kids are active creatures - especially toddlers! That's why I ensure to capture some fun shots of them running around, playing with their parents or and just being themselves during family photoshoots.

Does your little one like swinging between your arms? Do they like being tossed in the air? Running around? We'll capture that - and their precious laughter!

5 Authentic portraits of your children

You know those school photos with cheesy grins? Yeah... that's not what you're gonna get here. Rather than that, I aim to capture natural smiles and expressions of your kids being themselves.

When photographing individual children's portraits, it's always fun. Joking around, playing, chasing them (especially toddlers) to capture their true selves. Oftentimes this happens in between other shots, just them being themselves. There will be no smile forcing here!
