Pregnancy is such a life changing time period of every woman's life. And let's not sugar coat it - it does not always feel glamorous, despite what media is trying to sell us. It can hard, the hormones are running wild, you may not feel great in your own skin - but at the end of the day it is still a memorable time that is worth celebrating.
I love photographing maternity portraits. I heard so many women regretting not doing pregnancy portraits, saying they can't even remember their bump and that they regret not having a nice tangible memory of the time to reflect on. That's why I encourage mums to be to have their pregnancy portraits taken, even if they may not feel their most glam. I promise you that the portraits will make you feel beautiful and like the mother goddess you are. And what more - it will provide a beautiful memory for your baby to look back on in years to come.
When I was approached by lovely mum-to-be Renata to photograph her maternity portraits, I was over the moon. We decided to do a mix of lifestyle maternity portraits and more classical, elegant studio style portraits and it worked out just beautiful. Renata looked absolutely fabulous, having selected her lifestyle wardrobe from her favourite pieces and then transforming into a pregnant goddess while dressing in some of my gorgeous gowns and fabrics for her studio style portraits. We also did some very tasteful semi-nude photographs to show off Renata's beautiful glowing bump. Here are a few highlights from her maternity photo session.
