One of the first babies back after lockdown was this absolutely adorable little baby R.. She was slightly older than I am used to when it comes to newborn photography sessions, but at 6 weeks old she was still an absolute dream to photograph - just look at this absolutely adorable pout and cute chubby cheeks!
How to win over older siblings during newborn photoshoot?
Just like any newborn session with a sibling, I started the session with big brother and baby shots. Her big brother, who was just 4 years old, was so smitten with his new little sister and absolutely fantastic posing for the photographs with her. We chatted about dinosaurs and he helped with selecting headbands for his baby sister - I find that involving toddlers and children in their siblings newborn photo session really helps them build trust towards me and they are much more cooperative when it comes to actual posing and photographing. It also makes the portrait that little more special, knowing that your older baby chose the accessories for your sibling portrait.

It is always magical when a newborn smiles, and baby R was a big smiler during her session - especially when her mummy and daddy held her in their arms.
Baby R. was such a little star and absolutely rocked her newborn photoshoot. Her package come with beautiful personalised USB case with parents choice of photo on the outside of the case, and birth stats including her name, date of birth and birth weight on the inside board of the case, as well as gorgeous 6"x4" printed copies of their selected photographs. Having physical copy of images is so important, it is a tangible memory, something you can physically hold and reminiscent these special times over and over again.
