I love it when clients return with their newest addition. I have photographed this gorgeous family many many times - and it's always so lovely to get together to catch up, capture the kiddos grow, and document the family expand. Here are some of my favourites from newborn session of the latest addition, baby A.
A.'s mama requested natural, neutral colour palette so we stuck to beautiful dreamy creams, pure whites, neutral browns with just hints of colour.
Sibling shots can be challenging, but these two were absolute little superstars and made their mama very proud, posing ever so gently and beautifully with their newest sister. You can tell how absolutely smitten and over the moon they were to become big siblings!
We took a hybrid approach to their session - we did some classical posed newborn photographs, as well as lifestyle family portraits, to achieve some beautiful, timeless portraits that perfectly capture their beautiful family.
As with every session including older siblings, I tend to complete the family/sibling portion of the session first, so older siblings can get on with their day as I carry on photographing baby on his or her own. Newborn photography sessions can sometimes last up to 4 hours which is simply too long to expect toddlers and kids to sit still and patiently wait their turn, so from my experience it is best to get these out of the way first.
Once the family portion was done, I focused on capturing baby A.'s newborn portraits. Here are some of my favourites:
I am incredibly excited to say that this image from baby A.'s session has become a winner for the 8th round of the international AFNS newborn photography contest:
