Why should you hire a Newborn Photographer?

Updated: Nov 26, 2018

Newborn photography became fairly popular over the last few years, but there are still quite a lot of people out there thinking it's a waste of money.

In my opinion, investing in newborn photography is essentially investing into ever lasting memories. Newborns change so incredibly quickly. Hiring a newborn photographer will ensure you will never forget all those little details and memories in timeless photographs for the parents. Life with a newborn can be so hectic and everything can feel like in a haze. That's why it is so incredibly important to capture these moments, all those little details, connections and emotions to treasure them forever. To be able to show your grandchildren what their parents looked like when they were so little they could fit into a palm of your hand...

I strongly recommend to include photos of you and your other children (if applicable) in your newborn session. I understand not all parents feel comfortable in front of the camera, but I can assure you your kids will one day treasure those photographs you have with them when they were so tiny. I love capturing the connection between parents and their fresh baby. Being a newborn photographer is one of the most rewarding jobs because I get to see and capture a new life, the pure love the baby's parents have for this tiny bundle. The love in their eyes when they are looking down at their baby.

I know newborn photography sessions aren't for everyone. But I strongly believe that photographs are a wonderful way to capture emotions and memories and what a better time to capture your child than when they are so fresh and small? Nobody wants to lose those precious memories.

Why you should hire a newborn photographer and not just snap a few photos with your own camera? Here's a few reasons why:

1. Safety, safety, safety!

Newborn photographers do (or at least should!) take the upmost care to ensure your newborn is safe at all times during a photography session. Some of those cute newborn poses you see on instagram or pinterest are a result of compositing two or more images in post production and are unsafe to do without appropriate safety knowledge and precautions.

2. Time to relax!

After the family shots are done (I tend to do family and sibling shots first), you can relax when I am working my magic and photograph your newborn in those squishy sleepy (and safe) poses. I occasionally need a parents help to "spot" the baby while I am grabbing some equipment or accessories, or if I am photographing an elaborate set up, but apart from that you are more than welcome to relax and rest assured I take the upmost care of your new baby. I photograph in clients homes as I believe it is most convenient for busy parents and it ensures the baby is familiar with the environment which creates much more relaxed atmosphere.

3. Everlasting memories on your wall

Majority of my packages include some form of high quality wall art piece with an image of your choice. This way it will ensure you will receive a gorgeous piece of art of your baby that you can proudly display on your wall.

If you'd like me to create everlasting memories for you, please get in touch to discuss your session requirements.
